Street Eats: Falafel Burger from Go Burger

October 25th, 2012

Last time we went to the Go Burger truck, we were a little surprised to see falafel on the menu. We were thinking about fried falafel balls stuffed into pita bread, which seemed like a weird thing for Go Burger to serve. What we didn’t realize at first glance was they are now serving a falafel BURGER. Now the world makes sense again!

The falafel burger is one of the least expensive main items at Go Burger, for $6. With no meat included, we would be shocked if it wasn’t.

Since we had a few extra bucks in our pocket by ordering the falafel burger, we also ordered a shake shot for $1.

STREET EATS: THE TURK & VIDALIA ONION RINGS FROM GO BURGER

May 1st, 2012

I’m not usually a big fan of turkey burgers, but I’ve already tried most of the items on the Go Burger menu, and sometimes you just have to take one for the team.  Turkey burgers that I’ve had in the past were generally on the bland side and often fairly dry.  Hopefully Go Burger’s will be better.

The turkey burger was $6, one of the cheaper items on the Go Burger menu, so I added a slice of cheddar cheese for $1 and an order of Vidalia onion rings for $5.

STREET EATS: BCO DOG & SKINNY FRIES FROM GO BURGER

February 13th, 2012

A lot of food truck owners have the goal of eventually opening a restaurant.  The Go Burger truck comes from the other direction – it’s an outgrowth of an existing company, the BLT restaurant group.

You see that black stuff in the photo?  It may look nasty, but it tasted delicious. More on that later.

TODAY’S LUNCH: BLT BURGER & SKINNY FRIES FROM THE GO BURGER TRUCK

January 9th, 2012

There are too many examples to list of food trucks that later opened restaurants or stores.  Go Burger is in the minority of food trucks because they had a restaurant first, then opened a food truck.

I’ve had a bunch of enjoyable meals from Go Burger, but never had their BLT Burger.  I’m not a huge fan of BLT sandwiches, but really, how can you go wrong with bacon?

Today’s Lunch is a BLT Burger ($7.50 plus $1 extra for cheese) and skinny fries ($3) from Go Burger.

TODAY’S LUNCH: KOBE DOG FROM THE GO BURGER TRUCK

November 11th, 2011

I haven’t stopped by the GO Burger truck lately, but they seem to have reappeared on twitter.  (Some of the trucks are not tweeting their locations because some local business owners are using it to find the trucks and complain to the police.)

It’s been a while, so I went to the GO Burger truck for Today’s Lunch.  While I like the burgers at GO Burger, I like the hot dogs even more.  Today’s Lunch was a Kobe Dog ($6) and sweet potato fries ($5).

I also received a few comments on The Turk (their turkey burger) from Diana, who I met at the truck while we were both waiting for lunch.  She emailed me about how she liked the Turk.
