TODAY’S LUNCH: BLT BURGER & SKINNY FRIES FROM THE GO BURGER TRUCK

January 9th, 2012

There are too many examples to list of food trucks that later opened restaurants or stores.  Go Burger is in the minority of food trucks because they had a restaurant first, then opened a food truck.

I’ve had a bunch of enjoyable meals from Go Burger, but never had their BLT Burger.  I’m not a huge fan of BLT sandwiches, but really, how can you go wrong with bacon?

Today’s Lunch is a BLT Burger ($7.50 plus $1 extra for cheese) and skinny fries ($3) from Go Burger.

TODAY’S LUNCH: KOBE DOG FROM THE GO BURGER TRUCK

November 11th, 2011

I haven’t stopped by the GO Burger truck lately, but they seem to have reappeared on twitter.  (Some of the trucks are not tweeting their locations because some local business owners are using it to find the trucks and complain to the police.)

It’s been a while, so I went to the GO Burger truck for Today’s Lunch.  While I like the burgers at GO Burger, I like the hot dogs even more.  Today’s Lunch was a Kobe Dog ($6) and sweet potato fries ($5).

I also received a few comments on The Turk (their turkey burger) from Diana, who I met at the truck while we were both waiting for lunch.  She emailed me about how she liked the Turk.

GO BURGER OPENING A KIOSK ON WEST 38TH

June 8th, 2011

We saw a tweet from GO Burger yesterday that said “Have you heard?! We’re opening a GO Burger Kiosk @CasaNonnaNY! See you this Thursday at 310 W. 38th St!”

A little research, and we found more details about it on Zagat Buzz.  Next door to Casa Nonna will be a GO Burger kiosk that will be serving the truck’s menu.  (In case you’re wondering, both restaurants are owned by the same corporate parent.)

Lunch is available Monday–Friday from 11:30 AM–2 PM; dinner on Monday–Thursday is served from 5:30–10:30PM, on Friday & Saturday from 5:30–11:30 PM, and on Sunday from 5:00–10 PM.

Their burgers are great, but we’re kind of partial to their Kobe beef dogs.

TODAY’S LUNCH: BCO DOG & VIDALIA ONION RINGS FROM GO BURGER

June 7th, 2011

It’s a beautiful day, and the Go Burger truck was on 55th by 7th Ave, only a few blocks from my office.  Sounds like a good opportunity to try their BCO Dog.

A couple of weeks ago, I really enjoyed a Philly Burger from Go Burger, but I’m actually more of a hot dog/sausage/wurst guy, and the BCO Dog caught my eye last time.

Today’s Lunch is a BCO Dog ($7.50) and vidalia onion rings ($5) from Go Burger.

PHILLY BURGER & SKINNY FRIES FROM GO BURGER

May 23rd, 2011

The Go Burger truck recently got back on the street after taking the winter off, and we caught up to it on Friday.  The truck doesn’t have a set schedule or regular parking spots yet, but they seem to be concentrating on the West 50′s.

Last year I tried a delicious Kobe dog, which was topped with spicy mustard, apple cole slaw and pickled jalapenos.

For Friday’s lunch, I wanted to try a burger, and the Philly Burger ($7) looked like a good choice.  (Think Philly cheese steak, but on a burger).  I also got an order of skinny fries ($3)
