During the winter, Chef Samir returned to Morocco for a couple of months, which is where he grew up. When he returned, Samir said he would slowly be introducing new menu items to the truck.
The first new menu item we’ve seen since his return is a Wild Pacific Salmon Burger. That doesn’t sound very Moroccan, as salmon are cold water fish, but it did sound like something we wanted to check out.
Chef Samir may have been away in Morocco last week (he was due back yesterday), but his people know how to take care of their customers.
On Friday, it was snowy, rainy, windy and cold, and the guys at Comme Ci Comme Ca were giving away free vegetable soup to any hardy souls that made it to the truck.
We’re hardy souls, and wanted to check out their veggie soup. We also realized that we’ve never ordered the kofta from Comme Ci Comme Ca.
That’s two good reasons to visit the Comme Ci Comme Ca truck.
As a food writer, we sometimes have to go outside our comfort zone. We’re usually big meat-eaters, but understand that not everyone else is.
The Cinnamon Snail is probably the best-known vegan food truck in the city, but one of the better options for vegetarian food may surprise you – the Comme Ci Comme Ça truck.
Much of the menu is meat-centric, but Chef Samir has put together a nice vegetarian section. Choices include fire-roasted veggies over basmati rice or on a ciabatta roll, a veggie burger, and what we ordered, vegetarian couscous for $8.
I’m always on the lookout for new menu items to try from my favorite food trucks, so when the Comme Ci Comme Ca truck tweeted about a new Beirut Sandwich for $7, I wanted to try it as soon as possible.
After I ordered, the person behind me ordered a veggie cigar appetizer, which cost $4. Realizing I had never tried this dish either, I asked Chef Samir to make up an order for me too.
