One of the things we love about food trucks is how easily they can change up the menu for holidays, special events, or just to use what’s seasonal.

This week for St. Patrick’s Day, Mike ‘N’ Willies is serving Pulled Corned Beef Tacos with Pickled Cabbage & Sriracha Mayo.

We’ve never been big corned beef eaters, but that picture above looks pretty damn good!

All you need is a pint of Guinness for the perfect St. Patrick’s Day meal.

You can find Mike ‘N’ Willies on twitter here or on our Mobile Munchies twitter feed.

If you try the pulled corned beef tacos, let us (and everyone else) know how you liked them.

Street Eats: More Sliders & Tacos from Mike ‘N’ Willies

July 17th, 2012

Earlier this year when they first came out, we tried Mike ‘N’ Willies.  They serve slides and tacos, with 3 of each type to choose from.

Last time we tried few items.  This time we’re going to try a few other menu items: a Lil’ Piggie slider, lime chicken taco and Pea-nocchio slider.  The prices are in the $3.50-$4.50 range, but they have a lunch special of any 3 for $10.  That saved me a couple of bucks.

STREET EATS: TACOS & SLIDERS FROM MIKE ‘N’ WILLIES

March 26th, 2012

One of the newer food trucks on the street is Mike ‘n’ Willies, who started serving towards the end of January.  They serve mainly tacos and sliders, and both the truck and sliders are take-offs on fairy tale themes.  We had a NYSF First Look the first few days they were open, and went back recently for a 2nd look.

The menu isn’t large, but they are one of the few food trucks where you can get a fish taco, probably my favorite type of taco.  You can also eat veggie here, if that’s important to you.  You probably only need two dishes for lunch, but I got three.  Hey, someone has to do the dirty work!

I got a fish taco, a brisket slider, and wanted to try the lime chicken taco, but it was sold out.  I got a short rib taco for the third dish after Mike told me they added bbq sauce to it after reading my first review, where I said it was kind of bland.

NYSF FIRST LOOK: MIKE ‘N’ WILLIES

January 26th, 2012

Last week we alerted you to a new food truck serving tacos and sliders called Mike ‘N’ Willies.  After a couple of test runs in Billyburg, they took the plunge and hit Manhattan yesterday full steam ahead.

Their initial menu has 3 types of sliders and 3 types of tacos, plus chips & salsa, guacamole and when it’s cold out, soup.

We got 2 sliders and a taco, which totaled $10, although they were already sold out of our first choice – fish tacos.  Click through for our First Look at Mike ‘N’ Willies.
