IN CASE YOU MISSED IT…HYDRANTABLES
This got some pretty decent press in the NY food blogs and even in some mainstream media outlets, but just in case you missed it, Ali Pulver, a grad student at Pratt invented two items for making it easier to enjoy New York Street Food. For her thesis she developed a “Hydrantable” and a “Lunch Ledge”. Have you had...
NO GREENS, NO DESSERT!
Remember when the Schnitzel & Things truck parked alongside the Street Sweets truck. Maybe this guy should park in the middle for a more balanced meal.
I HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE (WANT A PEEK?)
A French-Canadian company called MUVBOX has invented a food truck where the walls expand and fold out to create stand-up tables and a floor. Looks like something out of Transformers.
Don't think it will work on a NY street, but don't see why it wouldn't work in a parking lot, as long as there was a bit of space.

WAKE UP, NY! WE NEED A BREAKFAST TRUCK
Someone needs to make a sacrifice to the street food gods so we can get a breakfast truck in NY like the Buttermilk Truck. The L.A. street food pagans must have sacrificed quite a few virgins to get this beauty. (Where they found virgins in L.A., I have no idea. Although it might be pretty tough in NY, too)

“…AND YOU MAY ASK YOURSELF, HOW DID WE GET HERE?”
David Byrne's oft-quoted lyric was applied to the street food craze by Black Book magazine. According to their article, first there was Treats Truck, then Dessert Truck, then Rickshaw Dumpling Truck, then all hell breaks loose!
HONORARY STREET FOOD
There are great places to get street food that are not trucks or carts. I'm starting a new section called Honorary Street Food for storefronts with little or no seating that serve food considered to be street food. We want to support all street food vendors, whether they serve from a truck, a cart, or a tiny storefront.

Ever Hear of Politically Incorrect Street Food?
SF Weekly found an Israeli street food vendor who sets up in various locations, often outside of bars, and calls himself Kike on a Bike. (His name, not ours.) The moniker may be offensive to some, but if you can get past the name, they say the middle eastern food is excellent. Thanks to @eatstreetfood in SF for the...
