Rally Downtown This Weekend To Support NYC Small Businesses

A growing coalition of community organizations, small business owners, city officials and neighborhood champions are launching a two-day “Shop Local” event called Rally Downtown (www.rallydowntown.org) on Dec 7-8. The purpose of the program is to get folks to support local businesses still hurting from Sandy and create a shop local program that is easily replicated in other neighborhoods in NYC.

Rally Downtown is anchored by two big initiatives, one of which is sponsored by our friends at FoodtoEat.com.

Mobile Munchies for Fri, Nov 30th, incl Sandy Relief Locations

Yay, the weekend is finally here! Was this an extra long work week, or did it just seem that way because last week was so short?

10 food trucks will be in Brooklyn & Queens today helping those in need. You can still help by donating to the NYC Food Truck Association’s indiegogo fundraiser.

Mobile Munchies for Thurs, Nov 29th, incl Sandy Relief Locations

To date, over 250,000 hot meals have been served by NYC-area food trucks in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Amazing job everyone!

There are still 10 food trucks out daily serving the hardest hit areas, but most of the vendors are back in their regular spots. It’s a cold and wet day today. Just imagine if you didn’t have electricity or heat. There are still plenty of people with severely damaged homes from Hurricane Sandy. That means some food trucks will be out again today, serving free, hot food to those who need it most.
