Street Vendors Protest Increased Police Crackdowns
Over a hundred street vendors protested at City Hall against perceived police crackdowns. Vendors say that instead of civil summonses (tickets), vendors are being arrested and facing criminal charges. This could have devastating effects on many of the vendors, 83% of whom are estimated to be immigrants.
