We saw that Domo Taco recently revamped their menu, with a bunch of new dishes and the removal of other dishes.

In addition to tacos and rice bowls, they now have quesadillas and burritos for main courses. On the protein front, kimchi falafel, an occasional special, was added to the regular menu, as was tempura shrimp.

For appetizers, they kept the nacho tots but got rid of the yakisoba. Domo Taco also added an over easy mulita, a 7-layer dip, and fried gyoza to the starters.

Wanting to try the new items, we ordered the gyoza appetizer for $4 and a shrimp tempura quesadilla for $8.

After waiting for 25 minutes, we finally got our lunch! That’s way too long.

NY Food Truck Lunch: Kimchi Falafel Rice Bowl From Domo Taco

November 19th, 2012

(Note: This lunch was eaten before we went to London last week.)

With the subways still inconsistent after Sandy, we decided to stay near our office instead of traveling around town for lunch. Luckily, Domo Taco was less than 2 blocks from our office. Even better, they had a new menu item.

After opening the truck with just tacos, Domo Taco introduced rice bowls a while back. At first, rice bowls were only with their regular fillings, but they recently began the kimchi falafel rice bowl, which costs $8. As you can guess, this would be a good meal for vegetarians.

Street Eats: Japanese Tacos & Nacho Tots from Domo Taco

Domo Taco has been a regular on the NYC food truck scene for most of 2012.  They don’t serve Korean/Mexican tacos; their food is more Japanese and Thai with Mexican accents added.

Our lunches so far at Domo Taco have ranged from so-so to good, but there are still some things we haven’t tried yet.  We put together our own sampler platter of a kare beef taco, a lemongrass chicken taco ($3 each) and Japanese nacho tots ($4)

STREET EATS: FISH TEMPURA BOWL FROM DOMO TACO

March 30th, 2012

The Domo Taco truck is one of the newer food trucks in NYC.  My first visit there when I got 3 tacos was a hit-and-miss affair.  I decided to go back for a second visit and try one of their bowls.

You can get a bowl for $8, which comes with a bunch of sides and any of the proteins that are available for tacos.  The full menu can be seen here.

I really like fish and don’t get it too often, so I chose the fish tempura bowl.

NYSF FIRST LOOK: DOMO TACO TRUCK

February 2nd, 2012

Boy, the things you find by just walking around our great city!  I headed over to the Park Ave food truck corridor yesterday for lunch, and ran across a new truck I had never seen before – Domo Taco.

The guy in the truck told me they have been around for a little while, usually parking around Astor Place, but this was the first day they tried Park Ave (at 30th St).

The Korean taco truck field is getting crowded, and I’m happy to tell you this is not another one.  Domo Taco is more of a pan-Asian taco truck, with elements of Japanese, Chinese and Thai cuisine in the tacos, along with Mexican ingredients.

There are 5 different tacos to choose from, plus rice bowls and a couple of sides.  You can get 3 tacos or a rice bowl for $8.  I went for 3 tacos to try a few different things.
