Yesterday we saw a quick little tweet from Freddy Zeidaies aka the King of Falafel & Shawarma. It said “Okay people I have decided that am going to bring my Falafel & SHAWARMA sandwiches to midtown Manhattan…” That’s big news in the New York Street Food world!
Freddy won the 2010 Vendy Cup as the best street vendor in New York, and has a fervent following in Astoria. We took a trip to Astoria on the N train last year just to check out his lunch – and it did not disappoint!
We sent a note to Freddy for details (when, where, etc) but haven’t heard back yet.
UPDATE: Freddy told us he will be coming into Manhattan in February 2012, but does not want to say yet where he will be setting up. Make sure to check in regularly with New York Street Food to find out.
