This is probably the most common variety of mushrooms. You can use white mushrooms in this recipe, however, they have less powerful flavors as compared to other varieties of mushrooms. Seasoning can help in getting the best taste of any variety of mushroom.
This variety of mushrooms and white mushrooms are of the same type. However, cremini mushrooms are more mature with a much stronger flavor, firmer texture and brown color. They are also known by another name – baby Bella mushrooms.
Portobello mushrooms are fully matured cremini mushrooms. Large and dark brown in color, these mushrooms have open, wider cap. You can find deep brown gills under the cap. It gives a meatier flavor and texture when cooked.
Again – you can use any mushroom variety in this recipe, but we prefer the Cremini mushrooms.
The Ingredients You Will Need
Chopped butter – 2 tablespoons
Olive oil – 1 tablespoon
Chopped onion – 1
Chopped garlic – 3 cloves
Sliced cremini mushrooms – 8 ounces
White wine – ½ cup
Whipping cream -½ cup
Chopped fresh parsley – 1 tablespoon
Dried tagliatelle – 8 ounces
Salt and pepper – according to taste
Parmesan cheese – for serving
Put a large frying pan on medium high heat and melt butter with olive oil.
Saute the onion until it becomes soft.
Add garlic and saute for one more minute.
Cook until mushrooms become soft.
Add white wine.
Cook until it is reduced by half.
Simmer for around 5 minutes.
Season with pepper and salt.
Add pasta and then toss with the sauce.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese

A Few More Cooking Tips
You can use a dish towel or a damp paper towel to clean the mushroom. There should be no dirt on the mushrooms. Don’t use water to clean them. Mushrooms do not brown well after absorbing water.
Don’t soak them. Just rinse with cold water and then pat dry with paper towels.
Use a pan having a good amount of surface area allowing you to spread mushrooms in a single layer. This keeps the mushrooms in contact with the pan allowing them to brown naturally.
You can use baby portabellas or button mushrooms as well. Adding cooked chicken will provide you with an even heartier meal.
