Even though many of us are back to “normal”, a lot of people in the area are not. With temperatures dipping into freezing territory, it’s more important than ever that we don’t forget those without electricity, food or heat.
With donations from Jet Blue, Chase News, and additional money raised by the NYC Food Truck Association, food trucks are being sent to the Rockaways, Staten Island, Red Hook and Hoboken, some of the hardest hit places.
Please click here to donate money for the NYC Food Truck Association’s Sandy Outreach. So far, over 20,000 meals have been provided from food trucks to those without food, water and power.
Today, Phil’s Steaks is going back to the Rockaways, as is Milk Truck, Chinese Mirch and Korilla BBQ.
Korilla BBQ is sending their 2nd truck to Coney Island.
Sweetery NYC is going back to Staten Island. Wafels & Dinges is serving wafels, coffee and hot cocoa at New Dorp HS, also on SI.
Eddie’s Pizza is heading to Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Uncle Gussy’s is coordinating with Queens College to help people in a shelter near there.
