The Lot At 30th St, the food truck space opening tomorrow at 30th St & 10th Ave, is looking pretty trippy. Gothamist got a sneak peek, and let’s just say that some of the food trucks might have been serving psilocybin mushrooms when the designers came up with this idea. Yes, it’s a perfect fit for the “High Line”.
The Miami-based art collective FriendsWithYou teamed up with AOL to design the Lot At 30th St with bright colors, stripes, and wacky, inflatable shapes. The project is called Rainbow City, and will be there until July 5th.
Different food trucks will rotate at the Lot, but the first ones will be Coolhaus, Kelvin Natural Slush, Red Hook Lobster Pound, The Taco Truck, and the current New York Street Food Featured Vendor, Taim Mobile.
After the Rainbow City ends, Friends of the High Line say they plan to present a variety of free and low-cost public events, which may include live music, film screenings, rollerskating, and family-friendly public programs. [Gothamist]
