The Letter Of The Week Is “V” (for Vendy Awards)

There should be lots of news on the Vendy Awards front this week. The 8th Annual Vendy Awards are less than 2 weeks away (Sept 15th), and we’re still waiting for announcements of the finalists in the Rookie of the Year, Best Dessert and Best Market Vendor categories.  (We know a few of the chosen ones, but have been sworn to secrecy.)

Leading up to the event on Sept 15th, we will visit as many Vendy Award Finalists as we possibly can.

On Sunday, we went to the Red Hook Ballfields to try Piaztlan Authentic Mexican Food, and also had goodies from last year’s Vendy Cup Winner, Solber Pupusas, as well as one other Red Hook vendor, El Olomega. We will be posting reviews this week of those vendors, and try to get to a few more too.

You can still buy Vendy Awards tickets here, which include as much food and drink as you can possibly ingest.

This will be our 4th Vendy Awards, and they are always the highlight of our year.
