We received an email from the NYCEDC (Economic Development Corp). They are looking for an event organizer to organize and operate a food-related public event in the parking lot of the New Fulton Fish Market in Hunts Point.
Click through for more info, including how to submit an RFP.
The proposed food-related public event should build on the vibrant history of street food vending in the Hunts Point area, as well as take momentum from other food-related happenings around the City such as food festivals, food truck events, weekly farmers and producers markets, and prepared foods pop-up stands.
The event could include, but is not limited to, food trucks, pop-up stands, prepared foods stands, restaurant stands, other retail food sales, local and/or regional food-related vendors, cooking demonstrations, agriculture education, nutrition education, and related activities.
Let’s all welcome the Hunts Point Food Festival!
I sure hope it’s come a long way from when the “local community” was Hookers At The Point. If they are even asking for an RFP, it must be better than it used to be.
To download a copy of the RFP, please visit www.nycedc.com/RFP. The RFP is also available for in-person pick-up between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at NYCEDC, 110 William Street, 6th floor, New York, NY (between Fulton and John Streets).
Proposals are due by August 24th, so get to it!
