Wow, time really does fly! Tickets are now on sale for the 2011 Vendy Awards.
If you recall, last year the big winner was the King of Falafel & Shawarma (who coincidentally we visited last week for lunch). Freddy won both the Vendy Cup and the People’s Choice Award.
Souvlaki GR won the Rookie of the Year award (and has since opened a restaurant), and Kelvin Natural Slush won the Best Dessert category.
It was a gorgeous day on Governor’s Island last year, and they are repeating the same location. Lines for the ferry got a little out of hand, but the setting was beautiful, and the event was well run.
No word on whether Pat Kiernan will be repeating as the award ceremony emcee.
Last year we were a Silver level sponsor of the Vendy Awards, and we hope to do the same this year.
