Black Tap, the globally recognized burger and shake destination with its NY flagship location on 45 W 35th St, is celebrating summer with its limited-time Red, White & Blue Cherry Coke World Cup Inspired ClassicShake, a patriotic, over-the-top dessert designed for peak July 4th celebrations and summer watch-party season, including routing on Team USA for the World Cup.
The shake is an indulgent Classic Cherry Coke ClassicShake served in Black Tap’s signature dramatic style, featuring a vanilla frosted rim coated in red, white, and blue star sprinkles. It’s topped with whipped cream, a cherry, festive patriotic sprinkles, and a Team USA World Cup flag celebrating the Team USA win. Black Tap’s signature maximalist presentation that has made its desserts internet-famous worldwide. It’s also available with Diet Coke!

Our Visit Notes
We swung by the Midtown flagship earlier, and the line was already spilling past the host stand. The frosted rim on the ClassicShake catches the light from the street windows before it even hits the table, and the whipped cream stack is genuinely taller than most people expect from a menu photo.
The cherry cola flavor comes through stronger than we anticipated, more soda shop than syrupy, and it cuts the richness of the soft serve underneath. The sprinkle rim holds together well past the halfway point of the shake, which is more than we can say for some of Black Tap’s past seasonal builds.
While inspired by the Fourth of July, the shake is also the perfect centerpiece for World Cup watch parties and summer gatherings, bringing together bold flavors, vibrant colors, and a playful celebration of Team USA. Its striking red, white, and blue design makes it a standout dessert, perfect for fans looking to celebrate every match with a memorable, photo-worthy treat.
The Cherry Coke World Cup inspired Shake
The Cherry Coke World Cup Inspired Shake is available for a limited time for only $13, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the holiday weekend, cheer on Team USA, and indulge in one of summer’s most festive treats.
Our Visit Notes
At $13, splitting one between two people at the table next to us seemed like the move, and the server didn’t blink when we asked for an extra spoon. Solo diners looking to watch a match and eat light might want to treat this as dessert rather than a meal, since the portion is built for sharing energy even if it arrives in a single glass.

Black Tap NYC is a globally recognized restaurant brand known for elevating the modern burger and shake experience with bold, over-the-top American comfort food. New York, Black Tap has become famous for its award-winning craft burgers, signature wings, and its iconic ClassicShake creations, extravagant, highly photogenic milkshakes that have become a global social media sensation.
Our Visit Notes
We’ve been back to the Midtown location a handful of times over the years, from an early weekday lunch when the burger line was manageable to a Friday night visit where we waited nearly forty minutes just for a table by the window. The ClassicShakes have always been the draw for us, less because of the flavor itself and more because of the moment they create at the table, the phones come out before the spoons do every single time. What’s stayed consistent across those visits is the presentation, Black Tap never seems to phone in the theatrics even when the shake underneath is a simpler build like this cherry cola version.
Blending New York street culture, music, and street art influences with a high-energy dining atmosphere, Black Tap delivers a nostalgic yet contemporary experience designed to be shared, photographed, and remembered. Each ClassicShake is crafted as a full sensory moment, combining indulgent flavors with theatrical presentation and playful design.

FAQ
What is the Black Tap Cherry Coke World Cup ClassicShake?
It’s a limited-time Classic Cherry Coke ClassicShake at Black Tap’s NYC flagship on 45 W 35th St, done up with a vanilla frosted rim in red, white, and blue star sprinkles, whipped cream, a cherry, patriotic sprinkles, and a Team USA World Cup flag. It’s built for July 4th and World Cup watch party season, and it’s also available with Diet Coke.
How much does the Cherry Coke World Cup ClassicShake cost?
It’s $13 for a limited time. We’d treat it as a shareable dessert rather than a solo order, since the portion is built for the table, not just one person.
Is the ClassicShake only available around July 4th?
The Fourth of July is the anchor moment, but Black Tap is positioning it as a summer-long centerpiece for World Cup watch parties too, so expect it on the menu through the tournament stretch, not just holiday weekend.
Where is Black Tap’s NYC flagship location?
45 W 35th St in Midtown Manhattan. It’s the original location that built Black Tap’s reputation for ClassicShakes before the brand went global.
Is the wait worth it for the ClassicShake alone?
Depends on your priorities. If you’re there specifically for the photo moment and the flavor, yes. If you’re trying to eat efficiently before a match, the wait at peak hours can eat into your afternoon, so we’d budget real time or go off-peak.
Can a group of four split one ClassicShake?
Two people splitting it works comfortably. Four people splitting a single shake will leave everyone wanting more, so for a group watch party we’d suggest ordering at least two.
