I stopped by the Living Language truck in front of the Random House building (Broadway bet 55th & 56th St) to check out the scene, and found out that learning new languages can be both rewarding and delectable.
With the “Say It Right To Get A Bite” rule, you have to ask for the free treats in the native language of the food.
I got a sorbet au pamplemousse and sfogliatelle.
The sorbet had a distinct grapefruit taste, but not so much to make you pucker. It was still a tasty, refreshing dessert.
The sfogliatelle was comprised of many layers of thin, crispy dough with cream in the middle.
If I keep writing, you’ll run out of time to go and get one for yourself. The truck will be there until 5pm today.
