WINES THAT ROCK

New York Street Food would like to welcome a new advertising partner – Wines That Rock – ‘The Official Wine of Rock ‘N’ Roll”.

Wines That Rock are the blend of great music with great wine.  Years in the making, Wines That Rock didn’t want to just slap cool labels on a bottle and call it a day.  They partnered with the award-winning Mendocino Wine Company, where the winemaker, Mark Beaman, listened to classic albums and thought about how to put the essence of the music into each bottle of wine.  Below is a short video where the winemaker explains his process, and you can click here for a peek at his actual tasting notes.

So far there are 4 varietals, and none were released with the personal approval of the artists involved.

  • Rolling Stones’ Forty Licks Merlot
  • Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Woodstock Chardonnay
  • The Police’s Synchronicity

I’m sure we’re not the only ones who ever bought a bottle of wine because the label was cool, and then was disappointed in the wine itself.  I’m not anything close to a wine expert, but we had several bottles of Wines That Rock over the holidays, and all my guests were quite pleased, including friends who know more about wine than I do.

New York Street Food is not going to recommend something without trying it first.  Honest opinions are what people rely on us for.  Wines That Rock are good wines that also happen to have very cool labels, and the music itself was a factor in the creation of these wines.

But you don’t have to take our word for it.  Wines That Rock also won 3 Gold and 1 Silver medal at the New World International Wine Competition.
