We were walking up Park Ave last week, and noticed a new food cart on the corner of 54th St with a bunch of people in line for lunch. That struck us as odd. The better food carts were usually lower on Park Ave.

The good food carts on Park Ave go from 47th St up to 53rd St. In fact , they used to end with Eggs Travaganza at 52nd St, until the King of Falafel & Shawarma opened a 2nd cart last year on 53rd St.

Who was this new cart on the SE corner of 54th & Park?

Upon closer inspection, the cart said Mysttik Masaala, who were Rookie of the Year Finalists at this year’s Vendy Awards.

We contacted Yuvaaraj, the founder and co-owner to see if they moved the original cart or opened a 2nd one. Over the weekend, Yuvaaraj told us it was their 2nd cart.

That’s great news! While the original cart has great Indian food, it’s quite difficult for us to get over to 45th St & 2nd Ave for lunch.

With a 2nd cart on Park Ave & 54th, we can get there much easier for lunch, and go deeper into the Mysttik Masaala menu.

You can find Mysttik Masaala on twitter here or on our Mobile Munchies twitter feed. For more information and menus, their Facebook page is here.
