TODAY’S LUNCH: SEEKH KABAB FROM KATHI ROLLS BY KABAB FACTORY

My last lunch from Kathi Rolls by Kebab Factory was very good, and I really was thinking about it over the weekend.  Even though I just had one Friday, I wanted to try a different one.  Today’s Lunch is a Seekh Kabab from Kathi Rolls by Kabab Factory at 101 Lexington Ave (bet 27th & 28th).  Click here for their website.

As I mentioned last time, they have 5 kathi rolls to choose from for $5 each.  They also have a lunch special with any 2 kathi rolls and a soda for $10, but last time, one was enough for me, and I have a fairly big appetite.

The seekh kabab is ground lamb.  You can also add lettuce, tomato, green pepper, onion and egg for no extra charge.  You also have a choice of white or wheat bread and have it grilled or not grilled.  I asked for red onion and green pepper on grilled white bread.

When I opened up the wrap, a piece of lamb had fallen out of the roll, and it was apparent this was real ground lamb, not processed gyro meat.  This little piece of lamb was also pretty spicy – and the first bite was even spicier.  This kathi roll had some serious heat.  In addition to the spicy lamb, the onion and green pepper stood out.  This was an excellent kathi roll.  I don’t have a lot of time today for lunch, so I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking.

Today’s Lunch gets a 9.5 out of 10.  It wasn’t perfection, but came pretty damn close for $5.
