SOME NEW MENU ITEMS AT MEXICUE (AND OTHER NEWS)

We received an email from Mexicue telling us what they’ve been up to lately, and it sounds pretty tasty.

They currently have a couple of seasonal specials on the truck.  The first is a Smoked Wild Mushroom Taco with habanero corn salsa and cotija cheese.
The second seasonal special is courtesy of Mexicue’s  Spring recipe contest winner, Elliot Walden.  His Smokin’ Chicken Slider is made with Friendly Farms smoked cheddar cheese, chipotle aioli and fire-roasted peppers.  Sounds like a winner to us!

The Summer recipe contest just went live, so whoever comes up with the winning recipe for a taco or slider featuring Sweet Corn from Lancaster Farm Fresh, your recipe will be featured on Mexicue’s menu for a month, and you will win a bunch of cool prizes.  Check out more details and submit entries here.

We will try to get to the truck as soon as possible to try these new, seasonal dishes.

Mexicue will also be putting a 2nd truck on the road later in the summer, but probably not for another month or so.

And last, but certainly not least, construction is going well at their upcoming 7th Avenue restaurant, a few blocks south of Penn Station.  They expect to open some time in July, so there will be a great new place to eat before going to events at Madison Square Garden.  If you live or work in the area, even better!
