To help celebrate Fashion Night Out, Marcus Samuelsson, one of the top chefs in NYC, has teamed up with Restaurant Associates to combine the worlds of food and fashion in a pop-up café, Global Street Food. The pop-up cafe will debut at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center on Fashion’s Night Out, September 8th.
From September 8th until September 15th, Global Street Food will feature an eclectic and affordable menu of a wide range of international foods from 10:30am to 11:00pm in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.
To mark the pop-up and to celebrate this union of food and fashion, Marcus will be hosting a special event on Fashion Night’s Out, on Thursday September 8th. There will be beats from Qool DJ Marv and a fashion meet-and-greet with Prajje Jean-Baptiste, one of Boston’s most promising young designers.
That night and over the following week, Global Street Food will offer menu items that will showcase fresh and seasonal produce and include Peri Peri Shrimp Salad; Malaysia Achat; Fish Falafal with Yogurt Sauce; Watercress and Mango Salad; Doro Wat with Injera Bread; and Gravlax.
Beverages at Global Street Food will include drinks such as Peach Tea and Ginger Beer. A full bar with beer, wine and an artisanal cocktail program will also be available for the week. Specially crafted cocktails will include The Big Apple, fresh Granny Smith apple juice, Bulleit bourbon, simple syrup and a celery leaf; Jamaican Splash, sweet sorrel syrup with Appleton’s rum and tart lime juice; Nordic Cooler, Lingonberry, St. Germain and vodka; and Shochu Cha, Shouchu, Canton and oolong tea.
Global Street Food will be open daily from September 8th through September 15th, from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., located in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, on the corner of Broadway Street at West 65th Street. Global Street Food will be closed for just one day (September 12th) but will be reopen on September 13th.
