Street food is undergoing a renaissance in the US and other parts of the “Western world” such as Canada, Australia and the UK – but it is a long-established part of the local culture in many parts of Asia and Latin America.
According to TheFoodPeople, street food is eaten by 2.5 billion people per day, and there are 20,000 street food vendors in Bangkok, who provide 40% of the the city’s energy intake. Wow!
