Street Eats: Crab Roll from Luke’s Lobster

July 12th, 2012

The last time we went to Luke’s Lobster truck,  it was the middle of winter, and we had a shrimp roll and clam chowder to warm up.  Now in the middle of summer, we needed something to cool us off.

Since we had a shrimp roll last time, and lobster rolls are more common than ever around these parts, so we went for a crab roll. This cost $11, which is $1 more than when we were at the truck in February. The lobster roll for $15 and shrimp roll for $8 were unchanged in price.

STREET EATS: SHRIMP ROLL & NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER FROM LUKE’S LOBSTER

Coolhaus now has artisanal hot chocolate and Schnitzel & Things announced they will soon be selling schweinebraten, a good cold weather pork shoulder dish.

Luke’s Lobster is serving New England clam chowder, and Red Hook Lobster Pound is serving New England clam chowder, corn chowder and downeast bisque.

Let’s get busy – It’s Chowda Time (and Bisque Too).

TODAY’S LUNCH: CRAB ROLL FROM LUKE’S LOBSTER

July 13th, 2011

We checked out Luke’s Lobster the first day it was on the street, May 10th, and had one of their delicious lobster rolls for our NYSF First Look.

It was time to try something else on  their menu, which begged the eternal question – if not lobster, then shrimp or crab?

Since shrimp is more common around here, Today’s Lunch is a crab roll ($10) from Luke’s Lobster.

LUKE’S LOBSTER OPENING A STOREFRONT IN FIDI

June 1st, 2011

Yesterday Luke’s Lobster tweeted “Did you see our music video?? We’re opening in FiDi on Friday!! http://bit.ly/kDxNS7.”

After opening their first storefront in the East Village in Oct 2009, one on the Upper East Side in May 2010, the Upper West Side in Dec 2010, a lobster truck on May 8th, and a new place in Washington DC last week, this Friday they are opening a new place at 26 S. William St, near Broad St. in the Financial District.

Wow, these guys must be working 27 hours a day.  And shooting music videos too!
