A couple of items came to our attention this morning via twitter that you might be interested in.

Eddie’s Pizza Cart, who was parking across from Lincoln Center for a while, is returning to their old stomping grounds on 52nd St & 6th Ave for lunch. That’s was one of their spots last summer and fall.

One thing you can get at the cart that you can’t get at the truck are Italian sliders, which we definitely recommend. The prosciutto and mozzarella slider is pictured above.

We also saw that the Jalapeno NYC truck is back, and today they are parking in Cinnamon Snail’s regular FiDi spot. We thought they were history, but they seem to have returned from the dead late last week. Hopefully the quality of the food has improved in their time off. Let us know if you try them.

We were near Lincoln Center recently and decided to stop by Eddie’s Pizza Cart for lunch.  Last year at Taste of the Parks, we learned about Eddie’s new cart in Richard Tucker Park at Broadway & 66th St, but hadn’t had a chance to try them yet.

We’ve eaten at Eddie’s Pizza Truck many times, but what we really wanted to try were their new slider.  The sliders are only available at Eddie’s Pizza Cart, not the Truck.

There are 4 choices for sliders on the slider menu, although they allowed us to bend the rules a little.  The sliders are $4 for 1 and $6 for 2.   We got one hot and one cold slider for $6.

We just got word from Eddie’s Pizza they will be closing their two pizza carts on Friday for the winter.  They fully expect to bring the carts back next year in the spring.

In the meantime, they will be bringing Eddie’s Pizza Truck to the cart locations (Tribeca & Upper West Side) throughout the winter whenever they can.

Eddie's Pizza new cart in the West 50's last month

Last month Eddie’s Pizza opened a new pizza cart that has been moving around between the High Line, the West 50′s and the Upper East Side.

Yesterday they tweeted about a new pizza cart opening in Tribeca tomorrow.  No word yet on the exact location, but we will let you know as soon as we know.

As I mentioned yesterday when writing about the Comme Ci Comme Ca truck, the best way to get my attention these days is through the Daily Specials.  I’ve had most of the regular menu items from many of these vendors, and a new menu item is always welcome.

Today’s Lunch is the eggplant & ricotta pie ($9.50), the Daily Special from the new cart of Eddie’s Pizza.  You can also get a large one for $16.50.
