STREET FOOD AT THE INTERSECTION OF ART, FASHION AND DESIGN

3011

In June we told you about a Freixenet promotion where they branded a food truck to give away free tapas and champagne in Hoboken and Asbury Park.  That sounded like a fun promotion, but Veuve Clivquot has raised the ante even more.

As part of Fashion Week in Berlin, Veuve Clicquot unveiled the Rolling Diner.  Molly Hannon of The Daily Beast had a chance to try it at the “Fashion Meets Art” event at the SevenStar Gallery in Berlin, Germany.

In keeping with the avant-garde nature of the event, the street food was quirky.  First was a small plate of four items: goat cheese with a cucumber and dark-bread crumble; watermelon gazpacho; roasted quail with pepper-tomato sauce; and a sweet finale of a bite-size vanilla profiterole.

These light bites were followed by Germany’s most popular street food, currywurst, which was given a unique twist with black-truffle shavings.

All of these items were served with Veuve Clicquot champagne.

After the food, models came out and a mini–fashion show took place, along with an accordion player and singer.

But some things never change.  Someone called the police, and the party had to move to the basement of the SevenStar Gallery.

Closer to home, for Fashion Week in New York, we are working with a couple of companies to provide some of New York’s best food trucks for their events in mid-September.
