As we’ve said before, our Mobile Munchies twitter feed is great for finding out Daily Specials on food trucks. In this case, it was the tweet from Gorilla Cheese NYC that caught our eye.

We like muenster cheese a lot, and decided to go for the Veggie Melt for $7. You can also get it as a combo with tater tots and a drink for $9.

Gorilla Cheese was the 1st grilled cheese truck in NYC, hitting the street back in May 2011. That makes them middle aged in food truck years.

The Veggie Melt was true to its name, with carrots, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, and grilled onions.

The carrots were crispy, but most of the other veggies were on the soft side.

We enjoyed the multi-grain bread, which was buttery and nicely grilled, and it worked well with the veggies.

The muenster cheese was a good choice to go with the veggies and multi-grain bread.

Gorilla Cheese hits various neighborhoods in Manhattan for lunch and dinner, so you should check their twitter here or our Mobile Munchies twitter feed.  That’s a good way to see where they are, and their specials.
