EAT ST. ANNOUNCES VENDOR VIDEO CONTEST

October 25th, 2011

We received an email from Eat St. telling us about their first ever Vendor Video Contest. Vendors can win a chance to be filmed for an Eat St segment, with a little help from their friends.

Eat St. is encouraging street food vendors to submit a short video of their cart or truck in the Eat St. Video Contest!  Just tell them a little bit about your cart or truck and your food to enter the contest, then let your fans and customers vote your way to glory.

No video equipment? No problem. Take a quick video clip with your phone.  Videos are all about the content, not the video quality.

To enter the contest…

SEASON 2 OF EAT STREET TO AIR IN OCTOBER IN THE US

September 23rd, 2011

With Eat St. in town this week to film 4 NYC food trucks (Uncle Gussy’s, Comme Ci, Comme Ca, Gorilla Cheese and Papa Perrone’s) for possible inclusion in Season 3 of the show, I received a question from G, who thought we were only up to Season 2.

To answer G, Eat St. is originally filmed for Food Network Canada, and it airs here a couple of months after it airs in Canada.  Season 2 of Eat St. is already up to Week 4 in Canada, but the US premiere is not until October 11th.

FILMING AT GORILLA CHEESE FOR SEASON 3 OF EAT ST.

September 22nd, 2011

I was invited down to the filming for Season 3 of Eat St at the Gorilla Cheese NYC truck yesterday, and it was a lot of fun.

I got a nice amount of camera time, including some with James, the owner.  But it’s tough to compete with 4 cute women eating grilled cheese and laughing and giggling most of the time.  If I was the director and had to choose between the women above and me, it would be me on the cutting room floor.

It was still worth it, because I got to eat a great grilled cheese sandwich.

FILMING FOR EAT ST. AT THE COMME CI COMME CA TRUCK

September 21st, 2011

(Not NYSF) filming at Comme Ci Comme Ca

I stopped by the Comme Ci Comme Ca truck yesterday, where they were filming for Season 3 of Eat St.

Things have really been coming together for Chef Samir.  After a rough start last year, Comme Ci Comme Ca was just nominated as a Vendy Award Finalist in the Rookie of the Year category, and now they were filming an episode for Season 3 of Eat St.

I have previously filmed two episodes of Eat St – for Season 1 with the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, and for Season 2 with Bistro Truck, which hasn’t aired yet in the US.

GO, GO, GO KORILLA

August 12th, 2011

This Sunday night is the 1st episode of Season 2 of the Great Food Truck Race on the Food Network.  If you’re not sure who root for, we’ll help you out – our hometown guys, Korilla BBQ.

If you didn’t watch the show last year, there are 8 food trucks competing from around the country for a Grand Prize of $100,000!  They go from city to city competing in various challenges, and one truck gets eliminated each week until there are only 2 trucks left in the final episode.

In the promotional video below, the host, Tyler Florence says, “No speeding. I’m talking to you Korilla”.  We say go, go, go.

For more info on all the food trucks, click here.

The name of this website is New York Street Food, so we don’t have to be impartial. Go Korilla!
