One of the lunches we had last week in LA was from Slider City. They have 14(!) different types of sliders to choose from on the menu, each named after an American city.

You get 3 sliders of your choice and a side of fries for $10. There are 5 different types of fries to choose from too.

We got New York (natch), Miami and New Orleans sliders, plus lemon pepper fries. Unfortunately, they were out of the garlic pepper fries.

Slammin Sliders

Lots of trucks sell sliders, but the menu at Slammin’ Sliders looked a bit different from other food trucks.

Yes, there were beef sliders, onions, mushrooms, bacon and the like, but there were also lobster and baja shrimp sliders, as well as shrimp po’ boys.

We wanted to try the baja shrimp slider, and asked for their recommendation for a second slider. They suggested wagyu beef with onion crisps, which we were told is their most popular slider.

Street Eats: Three Different Sliders from Our Heros

August 23rd, 2012

A couple of months ago, we told you about Our Heros opening a slider cart downtown. Unfortunately, downtown is tough for us to get to during lunch hour. Fortunately, the Our Heros truck, who comes up to midtown a couple of days a week, is now serving the same sliders as their sister cart.

There are 4 choices: Buffalo chicken, meatball and pulled pork for $2 each and crabcake for $3. We got three different ones to try.

Street Eats: More Sliders & Tacos from Mike ‘N’ Willies

Earlier this year when they first came out, we tried Mike ‘N’ Willies.  They serve slides and tacos, with 3 of each type to choose from.

Last time we tried few items.  This time we’re going to try a few other menu items: a Lil’ Piggie slider, lime chicken taco and Pea-nocchio slider.  The prices are in the $3.50-$4.50 range, but they have a lunch special of any 3 for $10.  That saved me a couple of bucks.
