The Malaysia Noodle Festival takes place on Tuesday, September 27th, and features classic Malaysian noodle dishes from some great New York restaurants.

Chee Cheong Fan is a simple light meal. It is basically rolls of flat rice nodles eaten with shrimp paste, belacan and chili, with a sprinkling of sesame seeds. Innocent enough but the sauce packs a kick.

I received an email recently from the Malaysia Kitchen people, who must have liked my articles on Eat|Drink|Explore Malaysia Kitchen and the Malaysian Kitchen Food Truck, because I was invited to the Flavors of Malaysia cookbook launch at the Nnonya restaurant. Although I could not make the event, I did some research on Nnonya food, and it looked pretty interesting!

Malaysian food media company FriedChillies (www.friedchillies.com) have launched a “Love Your Street Food Campaign” (LYSF) where you can vote for your favorite street food vendor. As FriedChillies CEO and founder Mohd Adly Rizal points out, it is the least we can do if we love street food. (more…)
