The BIG announcements from our friends at Kelvin Slush keep coming!

First they show up all over Madison Square Garden…with booze in their slushes.

Now Kelvin tells us they will be in a bunch of Whole Foods stores, with the official start date of Monday. Until then, there will be soft openings at some of the stores. In fact, the Union Square Whole Foods already has the sign below out.

You can shop and slush at the same time, although without alcohol. No drunk shopping allowed at Whole Foods! Hockey games are another story.

Click through for the details of which Whole Foods stores will have them first.

Sad Tweet: Schnitzel & Things Closing Their Store Today :(

February 22nd, 2013

Last night we saw the saddest tweet in a while. Schnitzel & Things tweeted: “sadly we are indeed closing the store:( we will provide a more detailed explanation in a blog post that we’ll put up later.”

While we haven’t seen the blog post yet, they recently had problems with pipes bursting at the store, which caused a lot of damage. That may have something to do with it. For the record, the S&T store opened just under 2 years ago.

Oleg told us the S&T truck will still be on the street. No changes there. Whew!

Schnitzel & Things was the very first food truck we ever tried, back in the Summer of 2009. If they sucked, we might not have created New York Street Food. Luckily, we were blown away, decided to seek out other food trucks, and 3 years later, here we are.

We will miss the S&T store, which we stopped into a few times when in the area. Word is they might reopen in a different location. We will let you know when we hear something.

The S&T blog is here if you want to keep track yourself.

Sounds like a bad 1950′s horror flick, but it’s true – I was a test bunny for Wafels & Dinges!

As we mentioned last week, W&D is opening a café in the East Village. Things are getting closer, because last Thursday we saw this tweet:

Wafels & DingesWafels & Dinges Kastaar requests brave test bunnies 1-3pm @ Fri’s 40th & Park spot for new café menu item: Ham + cheese in savory Liège dough. Who’s game?

Ham & Cheese in Liège Dough. Sounds like a no-brainer. All we had to do was show up at the truck on Friday from 1-3pm.
