Korean food is one of the least familiar Asian cuisines for me personally.  I’m more well-versed in Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and even Malaysian food than I am with Korean.  If that’s true for me, it’s probably true for other people out there as well.

LA Weekly recently had an article written by Jonathan Gold entitled “60 Korean Dishes Every Angeleno Should Know”.  Even though he talks about specific dishes at specific restaurants in LA, there’s enough of a description of each that it can be used to learn about Korean cuisine in private, instead of in a restaurant with everyone waiting for you to order.

If you really want to learn about Korean cuisine,  maybe read about 5-10 dishes at a time, then read them again later or the next day.  You’ll be an expert in no time.
