From the Redondo Beach Patch:

“Whatever you spend at the food trucks along Harbor Drive, ten percent will go to the high school.

Former Hermosa Beach council member John Bowler has organized a festival of food trucks at the site of the future Shade Hotel. Called the Food Truck Fest and FUNdraiser, the food trucks will be serving their specialties today until 8 p.m., tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., as well as the weekend of March 19 and 20 and April 2 and 3.

“We’re rotating different trucks through here constantly,” said Bowler, the operator of the Barbie’s Q food truck.

Ten percent of sales will go to the Redondo Union High School Associated Student Body, Bowler said.

Bowler credited Shade Hotel owner Mike Zislis for making the Food Truck Fest and FUNdraiser happen. “No reason for the property to sit vacant when it can benefit the community,” Bowler said.

The trucks are located at 655 N. Harbor Drive.”

Now that’s a great idea.  If any New York food trucks (or anywhere for that matter) are looking for a good cause to support, local schools are an excellent way to give back to the community.  We can’t think of a better investment in the future.
